WELCOME AND FIRST POST

Hello! Welcome to my new blog. I'm attempting this whole blogging thing for the first time right here and now. My hope is that this will be a useful tool for keeping in touch with friends and family back home. I say "back home" because my wife Stacy and I just moved to Minneapolis, MN for my new job. You see, I just accepted a position at a studio called Wet Cement Productions (www.wetcementproductions.com) as a character animator.

For those of you who don't know what a character animator is, let me briefly explain. You know all of those cool movies that Pixar puts out (Cars, Finding Nemo, Toy Story)? I work on things like that. My job is to make the characters come to life. I make them walk, talk, and do all sorts of crazy stuff. Hopefully as time progresses and I get better at this blogging business, I'll post some of my work for you to see.

As if starting a new job in a city I've never been to wasn't enough, I'm also trying to complete the last five months of my animation studies at a great new online animation school called AnimationMentor.com (www.animationmentor.com) Between now and December 17 I have to write, direct, and animate a short film. It's going to be a crazy end to 2006!

Speaking of school, I have some homework to do. Then it's off to bed because I start my new job tomorrow morning at 7 AM! Thanks for reading my first post. I hope there will be many more in the future. I would love to hear your comments and feedback.
